SPOTLIGHT: Memoryhouse

Memoryhouse has already received substantial hype – and its well deserved. There’s no shortage of bands making this kind of reverb-soaked dreampop, but when I first heard (and subsequently tweeted about) memoryhouse, I was struck by their beautiful, sincere, and immediately gripping sound. I highly recommend you download their outstanding EP The Years (for free)!
Its also interesting that quite a few fan-made videos for memoryhouse songs have popped up. They’re all pretty solid, albeit a bit predictable (i.e. dreamy, filmic, nostalgic.) Here’s one of my favourites for the song “Lately”, which incidentally is based around Jon Brion’s “A Dream Upon Waking” from the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack. Nothing happens, but the visual is outstanding.
